 Surgical Assault: The Battle for 8820.63 The ground shook with the echos of artillery shelling.  Bolter and Gauss fire are exchanged half a unit to east of Khotec the Cruel’s command post.  The forces of Chaos have arrived in search of the planets Noctolith stock pile. Illuminor Szeras had placed caches on this world in preparation of building another pillar to extend the Pariah Nexus. Khotec was unimpressed with the assault so far. The Third, Seventh and Fourteenth legions had stalled the Chaos Space Marines initial assault. Khotec’s First Legion as well as Ninth and Tenth Legions were moving into position to counter attack.  Khotec growled in impatience as he watched Warriors from Third Legion gun down a company of Chaos Cultists. He was about to order his legion to link up with Third Legion when he received a communications protocol. “Thotep! Khophec! Attend me!” He ordered.  The Raid of Planet 8420.7 Overlord Khotec quickly scanned the terrain in front of him.  His Legion had found Imperial forces on the planet designated as 8420.7 and they seemed to be using the northern continent as a staging point.  There was a supply point in an old burnt out city on the edge of the eastern part of the continent where Khotec decided to blood his newly designated Second Cohort.  This system was on the edges of his legions operations area so he had only brought a small raiding force of two units of Skorpekh Destroyers with their attached Plasmacytes as well as a Canoptek Re-animator to assist with any casualties. A new journeyman league has started up at Drawbridge Games in Castle Shannon. I’ve started up Skorne army and will be playing Beast Master Xekaar throughout the league. My list for Week One: Skorne Battlebox Xeekar1 - Cyclops Raider - Cyclops Savage - Titan Gladiator We’re using the journeyman rules with only two minor variations.  The first is that you get a free “Do Over”.  Namely if you add something that it turns out you hate you can replace it the next week.  Secondly we allowed a caster swap at week 1 so that player who wished to keep adding to their faction of choice could have a little variety. In regards to scenario we played the mangled metal which is required for weeks one and two.  The downside to this scenario is that it lacks board objectives and some matches devolve into who wants to hide behind a forest or obstruction the entire game.  Personally I just go all in when a match goes to this point so that I can move onto a more interes...

July has been an exciting time at Drawbridge games in Castle Shannon for our privateer press players.  With the release of Mark III we were really excited to try out the new rules and perhaps start new factions.  We’ve had a pretty consistent core group of players and we were all looking forward to starting a new league and getting some new models painted up. Since we were starting a new Journeyman and most of our core players weren’t planning on playing Cygnar I went ahead and pre-ordered the new box set as well as the models for what I would need to get to a 75 point list.  I was very excited to get my trencher army put together with my ending warcaster being Caine2. Fate decided I would be taking a different path unfortunately.  Upon receiving my new battleboxes on the 30th I was dismayed to find my Cygnar box had a mis-pack and Maddox arrived with two sword pieces and no torso.  The other hitch was that the trencher box and UA I had ordered were no show...
